Zoe’s yoga journey began at age 12 with the opening of a heated power yoga studio in her neighborhood called “Sigh Yoga”. Her mom had begun attending classes at this studio and recommended Zoe try it out. Zoe had struggled with anxiety as a child and her mom thought that Yoga might be helpful. After taking just one yoga class Zoe was astonished at how amazing she felt. She quickly fell in love with the practice and found that through Yoga she was able to manage her anxiety. At the age of 15, Zoe knew she wanted Yoga to be a part of her life forever. She decided to enroll in the 230 hour Yoga Teacher Training at The Yoga Center of Minneapolis. She completed the program at age 16 and began teaching at age 17. After studying yoga theory and through the continual development of her practice, Zoe started to fall away from hot power yoga and started to be drawn towards a more gentle, meditative style. After completing her 500 hour advanced Yoga Teacher Training at The Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2013, Zoe was certain she wanted a career in holistic medicine. She wanted to help people heal through a modality that incorporated mind, body and spirit. Zoe took a “Yin Yoga” teacher training and after learning some Chinese Medicine theory she was very drawn to the medicine. She decided to attend Northwestern Health Sciences University and receive a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
Zoe is now a licensed acupuncturist with over 3 years of clinical experience. She has been teaching yoga for over 6 years and is passionate about holistic forms of healing that incorporate mind, body, and spirit. One of the things Zoe loves about Chinese Medicine is that it views the patient as a whole and aims to bring balance to their entire being in a natural way. Through simply redirecting the energy flow, the body begins to heal and balance itself.
Kevin has been a massage therapist for over 3 years and a dancer for most of his life. His training in dance has lent him a great understanding of the body and muscles. Kevin’s education in massage therapy is strongly based in myofascial therapy, which deals with manipulating the connective tissues around muscles to loosen knots and ease tension and trigger points. He also combines that with Swedish massage to increase circulation and promote the body’s ability to heal itself.
